Scrutton Bland, a leading accountancy practice, part of the Sumer group, a leading mid-market accountancy practice empowering SMEs across the UK, is delighted to announce the arrival of a new cohort of 10 talented trainees to its Ipswich and Colchester offices. As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to investing in the future of the profession, these trainees will be joining their Business Advisory, Corporate Services, and Tax teams as they work towards their Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualifications.
The new trainees started on 2 September, and this initiative is part of Scrutton Bland’s annual programme designed to nurture the next generation of accounting professionals. Each trainee was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, and their training will be supported by Scrutton Bland’s experienced team, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.
“We are pleased to welcome our 2024 apprentices to the Scrutton Bland family,” said Jason Fayers, Managing Partner at Scrutton Bland. “These trainees were selected from a large number of applications, and we are excited to see them develop and explore the numerous opportunities available. Our commitment to nurturing new talent is central to our success, and we are proud to be investing in the future of our industry.”
The trainees will benefit from Scrutton Bland’s comprehensive training programmes, designed to provide them with practical experience, soft skills and professional development opportunities. This initiative underscores the firm’s dedication to “growing our own” by cultivating talent internally and preparing the next generation of managers and leaders within the firm.
“Our continued investment in our training programmes is incredibly important to us,” said Georgie Norman, Head of People and Culture. “By growing our own talent, we ensure that our people are fully equipped to become the managers and leaders of the future. We are proud to see our trainees develop within our firm, and we are committed to providing them with the support and opportunities they need to thrive.”
This yearly initiative is a key component of the firm’s long-term strategy to build a strong, capable workforce that can meet the challenges of an ever-evolving business landscape.
