Tim O’Connor

Tim has been specialising in audit since the mid-1990s and has been a partner at Scrutton Bland since 2004. He has a wide range of clients in a variety of sectors which include a number of charities and he holds the Diploma in Charity Accounting awarded by the Association of Chartered Accountants. Tim also heads our Higher Education team, which focuses on local providers. Tim’s portfolio also includes a considerable number of trading companies, including groups with overseas parents and subsidiaries, which report under both UK GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards. Tim values building long standing relationships with his clients and adding value to their organisations through the services provided. In addition to his client work, Tim is a Colchester Ambassador, working with local businesses and the Borough Council to promote and grow the town. He is also a director of the North Essex Business Improvement District (BID) company, which is aiming to work with organisations to build a closer community and improve the working conditions for everyone in the area. Outside of work Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, finding excuses to go and watch Essex County Cricket Club and not really understanding why he still supports Leyton Orient, with all the dashed hope that it brings.
