Leisyen joined Scrutton Bland in 2008 and is fully qualified with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA), holding the CIIA Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management (CMIIA) and the Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL) designations. She is also a qualified Information Technology (IT) auditor.
Leisyen works closely with our Risk and Assurance clients to review key internal controls, including (but not limited to) governance, risk management, key financial controls, budget setting, business continuity, IT infrastructure and estates management. Leisyen’s main areas of expertise relate to the Education and Housing sectors. She has significant experience in the Education Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA) requirements and undertakes mock funding audits for her clients to ensure they are able to demonstrate compliance with the ESFA guidance in the event of a formal funding audit. She also undertakes in-depth reviews for her housing clients, in areas such as health and safety, lettings, rent setting and business planning. Leisyen says that keeping up to date with current developments and the associated risks and mitigations is vital for her role and she enjoys working with clients to help strengthen their frameworks and reduce the risks associated with cyber crime. Outside of work Leisyen enjoys baking, cooking and sewing. She also likes being outdoors and can often be found walking or running through local parks and fields, taking in the scenery and improving her fitness.
