Harriet gained a degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Gloucestershire in 2012 and then spent a couple of years working in retail for Topshop and Topman, working as a Team Leader before moving into a head office role based in London.
Having loved the people element of retail, she took a jump in 2015 and decided to start her career in HR, starting in HR Admin and gradually progressing through the years. Her work included time at a global organisation who employed over 4,000 people in the UK alone, as well working for one of the largest estate agents in the UK. These roles gave her fantastic exposure to large corporate companies, which has been integral to helping her get to her current position. In her previous HR role Harriet was selected as the only UK representative to travel and work in the company’s head office in Pittsburgh for a month and work on a large project where she helped to scope out and implement a new Global HR system (Workday) and ensured it would meet the requirements for the whole of UK, a big responsibility!
Harriet joined Scrutton Bland as an HR Adviser in 2021 and since then has taken the lead on recruitment strategy, as well as managing the student intake and helping them on their career pathways. She is also working on completing her CIPD level 5 qualification.
During the long period of lockdown in 2020 Harriet set herself the target of completing the Couch to 5k challenge and in 2022 completed her first 10k run whilst raising over £1,000 for the MS Society. She also tries to visit Glasgow as much as possible to get the chance to see her brother and 2 year old nephew!
