Paul Goddard

Paul has been an internal audit professional since the late 1990s and became a partner at Scrutton Bland in 2019, having joined the firm in 2001.  He has led Scrutton Bland’s Risk and Assurance Department since 2016.  A Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, he also holds the Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership.  Paul specialises in not-for-profit internal audit services, working with Colleges, Universities, Housing Associations, Multi Academy Trusts and the wider charity sector.  Paul’s expertise rests in the development of effective risk management and governance frameworks, giving meaningful assurances and adding value, all designed to mitigate risk exposure and to improve efficiency and effectiveness.  Paul develops strong working relationships with senior management and boards by proactively sharing advice and insight, and giving tangible support in a number of ways, including the delivery of board level training.  Paul is also Scrutton Bland Group’s Data Protection Officer.  You may see Paul travelling down a river near you on his paddleboard or even hear him giving his considered vocal support when watching his son play Saturday morning football.
