We will pay all tuition and Institute fees and you will also be entitled to paid time off for your studies, along with mentoring support.
What you’ll do
No two days are the same at Scrutton Bland. No matter which office you are based, you’ll work directly with clients and your contributions to projects will have a very real and meaningful impact on their success. You’ll get to experience working with various businesses at different stages of their business. As well as gaining a recognised professional qualification, you’ll develop the kind of rounded business skills that will serve you well regardless of where your future takes you.
- You’ll complete four or five years of studying alongside your day to day working, gaining real work experience
- You’ll liaise with clients regularly and travel to their offices, getting to know them and their business
- You’ll interact with senior leaders of the business on a regular basis, you won’t be invisible here, everyone plays an important part in our success
- You’ll be part of a team who’ll mentor and support you through your day to day working
- You’ll gain soft skills and knowledge working on a variety of exciting projects, keeping you engaged and interested
Who you’ll work with
You’ll work with a variety of clients, each of different sizes and with various complexities. Some may be start-ups, looking to gain finance to kick start their business, others may be family owner managed businesses looking to pass their business from one generation to the next or perhaps a large corporation with offices throughout the UK and overseas. The businesses will operate in a number of sectors types from agriculture and charities to tech and construction, there is a wide variety of client work you can get involved with.

Our structured apprenticeship programmes are designed to help you from starting out in your career to becoming becoming fully qualified.
Here are just some of the areas where we are always looking to employ new talent:
Training
The Scrutton Bland Apprenticeship Scheme eases candidates into the world of work and provides the skills necessary to become part of a larger team. We support our teams in gaining their professional qualifications including AAT, ACCA, ACA, ATT, CTA, CIOT, CIIA, CII and ADIT.
Your training starts on your first day with an induction that will give you a broad business, technical and service overview and will continue to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become a trusted adviser for our clients.
These are all structured training programmes where you will be learning and gain hands on experience with real clients and projects with a supportive team around you. For those joining our Business Advisory and Audit Teams you will be training with First Intuition, those joining our Tax Teams will be training with Kaplan.
Salary
Our apprenticeships offer a great starting salary, which is competitive locally and we benchmark against others regularly.
